Nokia recently ‘unveiled’ their latest concept phone named E-97 ENVELOP. Made for the new age executives the salient features of the new phone (not currently under production) are:
DUAL SIM
Dual Sim Handling Capacity for keeping professional & personal life separate.
THE SCREEN
Screen is unique in more ways than one.
Firstly, it will be the ‘largest’ phone screen ever featured by a Nokia Phone (and that’s saying something considering the communicator & N Series).
Secondly, it slides out from underneath the keypad – sideways. The ‘laptop keypad’ design ensures that screen slides out to give the appearance of a tablet PC. It also attaches alternately to cover the keypad giving the set its signature “ENVELOP” look. Hence, the name.
Thirdly the screen can ‘tear-off’ altogether and be attached to the keypad by either cable, bluetooth or infra-red.
Finally last but not the least the screen has ‘on-board’ memory storage capacity of 4GB/8GB which allows sharing of mp3s, pics & files by simply swapping the screen.
KEYPAD
The keypad apart from its communicator-esque ‘laptop design’ also carries an ‘on-screen’ display that shows sms/time alerts & even LED visualization for animation & equalizer etc. It has an ASCII standard keyboard layout.

OPTIONAL:
The PACKAGING features parcel post theme to go with the Envelop branding.
LEATHER CARRYING CASE comes with pocket for second/extra screen.
LED behind Nokia Label makes the phone visible even in pitch dark & functions as a torch (in 3rd world countries with frequent power outages – read ‘PAKISTAN’).
SCREEN HOLDER allows both attachment to keypad & stand alone operation for the screen.
Looks exciting lets hope it comes into production on fast-track to enable Nokia its technological upper-hand in the phone market. No news yet on the caamera resolution & touch-screen feature (very useful for making screen act individually).
